Brandon Routh is ready to show off his comedy chops on the small screen again — this time in the upcoming season of TV Land’s hit sitcom “The Exes,” and Yahoo TV has your first look!
The “Superman Returns” star, last seen in the short-lived CBS comedy series “Partners,” guest-stars as Steve, a handsome bartender / wannabe actor who unknowingly ends up taking career (and life) advice from perennial party girl Eden (Kelly Stables) and Haskell (Wayne Knight). His episode is scheduled to air in January 2014.
In our exclusive first-look pic from the set, Routh is pictured with series regulars Stables, Knight, and Donald Faison.
“The Exes” recently announced that Leah Remini would appear in several episodes as Nicki, the sister of Stuart (David Alan Basche) — a tough talking, no-nonsense, stylish, and sexy woman from Staten Island whose 17-year marriage ended when she found out that her policeman husband had an affair. This season will find Nicki retreating to Manhattan to seek the comfort of her brother, only to find out that he’s sharing an apartment with two guys, Phil (Donald Faison) and Haskell, and living next door to his divorce attorney and landlord, Holly (Kristen Johnston).
“The Exes,” which returns with new episodes on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 10:30 p.m. , revolves around the unlikely trio of Phil, Haskell, and Stuart, three roommates and divorcés who have finally found bromance after initially being forced to live together by their divorce attorney, who’s also their landlord. When last we left the gang in the Season 3 summer midseason finale, Phil and Eden realized that they were more interested in dating than remaining “friends with benefits,” while the rest of the gang was surprised to find out that anything at all was going on between them.
So how might Routh shake up the gang’s romantic interactions? Could we see a hookup with either Holly or Eden? We’re looking forward to finding out!

Happy 34th Birthday, Brandon Routh!
In the movies you have had super powers playing Superman. In life what would you say your superpower is?
"I guess what I want my superpower to be, and I do my best to exhort that…and it’s real cheesy, but it is to spread love." — Brandon Routh
